Hi! thanks for swinging by my humble
little patch of the internet….
I’m Peter – the bloke behind The Green Bin Mower. If you’re looking for someone reliable, down-to-earth, and a bit fussy (in a good way) about lawns – you’ve landed in the right spot. Originally from Tasmania (and yes, just the one head, I promise), my wife Cate and I have called the Sunshine Coast home for nearly 14 years. Before swapping sunshine and grass clippings for high-vis and hazard zones, I worked as a

Live Electrical Linesman – the kind of sparky who fixes powerlines without cutting the power.
After three decades up in the air, I came back down to earth to help Cate run Cotton Tree Ice Creamery, where I churned out ridiculously good handmade ice cream for the last seven years. We’ve since sold the shop, and in my 60’s, I figured it was time for one more career shift – this time, doing something I’ve always loved: mowing lawns and making things look neat and tidy.
I’m one of those practical types who enjoys fixing things around the home and garden. I take pride in my work, treat every lawn like it’s my own, and I don’t muck around when it comes to a clean, sharp finish.
If your lawn’s getting a bit wild or scruffy, give me a buzz. I’ll bring the mower, you provide the green bin – too easy.
Oh, and if there’s anything else around the place that needs doing while I’m there — like a few small handyman jobs — just give me a shout. I’m always happy to help where I can and can give you a quick quote while I’m on-site.
When I’m not out mowing or fixing something, I like to share a few practical tips to help locals make the most of their backyards. Whether it’s keeping your lawn in good nick or getting things set up for a weekend BBQ, I’ve picked up a fair bit over the years.
I even put together a blog post recently on how to get your backyard ready for a fire pit — perfect if you’re keen to create a cosy space for the cooler months.
